The Beginning and Works

Probst was raised in Bellevue, Washington and in 1980 graduated from Newport High School. Then he attended Seattle Pacific University, after which, he took on the job of producer, narrator and marketing videos at Boeing/Motion Picture/Television studio.

Though he is primarily known for his work in Survivor, Probst has appeared in many other shows as well, significant of these being, Backchat (1996), Rock & Roll Jeopardy!(1998 to 2001), Access Hollywood, Fillmore, etc. He also directed and worked on the screenplay of the film ‘Finder’s Fee’ (2001). He also lends ideas to the show Jeopardy! , even appearing at the celebrity version of the show, a couple of times. Probst is also quite actively involved with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

In 1999, he was designated as minister by the Universal Life Church, through which he remarried his parents during their 35th wedding anniversary. A Le Cordon Bleu Chef Graduate, Jeff loves cooking, especially in his leisure time.

Survivor Tv Show

In the reality show Survivor, Probst always has a snuffer with him, with which he snuffs the torch of the eliminated contestant, speaking the famous line “The tribe has spoken. It’s time for you to go.” At the start of every immunity challenge, he speaks “Come on in Guys.” He has been with the show since its inception and plans to continue up till at least twentieth season of the show.

For his work on the show, Probst bagged the Primetime Emmy Award in 2008 in the category of Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.

Other Honors

For his film, Finder’s Fee, he got the Golden Space Needle at the Seattle International Film Festival and an award for the Best Screenplay (Feature Film) in Method Fest Independent Film Festival. In 2001, the People magazine named Probst amongst its list of “50 Most Beautiful People”.
