Survivor Season 12
The twelfth season of Survivor was named Survivor: Panama - Exile Island and hence is commonly referred to as Survivor: Panama or Survivor: Exile Islands. The location chosen was off the coast of Panama in the Pearl Islands where prior to this season, Survivor: Pearl Islands and Survivor: All-Stars were canned.
The shooting for the show started on 31st October, 2005 and the season was first broadcasted on CBS on 2nd February, 2006. From the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York, live votes were received at the season finale that happened on 14th May, 2006.
An interesting input this season was Exile Island which had earlier appeared on Survivor: Palau. A contestant was exiled for time duration between reward challenge and the Immunity Challenge for a week at the Exile Island. The banished contestant was handed a flint, a single machete and a bucket full of impure water. But the plus was that there was a hidden Immunity Idol on the island which could be used at the Tribal Council when the voting process was over. This gave the contestant a pivotal advantage as the idol could be kept secret until he or she is evicted, and as this would guard the player against eviction, the person with the next largest number of votes shall have to leave the game.
