Survivor Season 13

The thirteenth season of the adventure reality show Survivor was first announced at the Survivor: Exile Islands finale by host Jeff Probst, (who claimed later that this one was of the best seasons of survivor ever) but the location, where the season was to happen (Aitutaki, Cook Islands) was disclosed much before this episode by the website, Survivor Maps. Subsequently, applications for participation were asked for until 3rd February, 2006.

The season was first broadcasted on 14th September, 2006 and ended with a stunning two- hour season finale which aired on 17th December, 2006 which was tailed along with a live Reunion show from CBS Television City situated in Los Angeles.

The players were teamed up into five tribes this season. One of them was based on ethnicity and rest by race, hence named: Asian American, Hispanic American, African American, and White American. This idea of course did not go down with many and before the start of the season much hue and cry was raised as in the earlier seasons, methods such as group-choosing, random distribution which were done by the players or in some cases they were divided on the basis of their age or gender but never had race and ethnicity been made a criteria before.[Read More...]
